Version changes of the BACnet firmware package for firmware 1.16.xx

Version 8 of the BACnet firmware package contains the BACnet firmware 1.16.64 with modifications listed in FAQ 101598.
Version 6 of the BACnet firmware package contains the BACnet firmware 1.16.59 with modifications listed in FAQ 101598.
In version 5 the PCD and BACnet firmware 1.16.55 are contained. This BACnet firmware corrects an issue with the "PCD input reference", see FAQ 101712.
In version 4 the PCD firmware in the package has been updated to 1.16.52.
Since version 3 of the package the firmware for the PCD3.Mxx60 Power CPUs is also included in the package.
Please note that the first version of this package available in week 30 of 2011 did contain firmware 1.16.42 for the PCD2.M5 and PCD3. These versions are not to be used together with the Ethenet RIO (see FAQ FAQ 101640).
While the name of the first version of this package was "BACnetFW_Package_1.16.41.zip" the current version 2 has the name "BACnetFW_Package_1.16.41_V2.zip"
 

Latest maintenance firmware package for PCD firmware 1.16.xx (V8, May 12)

The firmware versions contained in this package are the latest firmware versions available (based on the certified version 1.16.55). The following versions are contained in this package:
  • BACnet firmware 1.16.64
    - version for PCD1.M2 and PCD3 Power CPU (Mxx60)
    - version for PCD2.M5 and PCD3
  • PCD firmware 1.16.65 for
    - PCD1.M2120
    - PCD2.M5540
    - PCD3.Mxxx0
    - PCD3.Mxx60

In version 8 the BACnet firmware has been updated to the version 1.16.64.

The officially approved BACnet firmware version is 1.16.55. This firmware is compatible with the PCD2/PCD3 firmware version 1.16.56 or later.

Latest maintenance firmware package for PCD firmware 1.10.xx

The firmware versions contained in this package are the latest firmware versions available for PCD systems which only can run a firmware 1.10.xx. The following versions are contained in this package:
  • BACnet firmware 1.10.50
    - version for PCD2.M5 and PCD3
  • PCD firmware 1.10.61
    - PCD2.M5540
    - PCD3.Mxxx0 (except PCD3.Mxx60)

Good to know

The differences between the BACnet firmware version 1.10.50 and 1.16.64 are listed in FAQ 101598
The BACnet firmware packages 1.14.xx which has been available here has been removed due to performace issues of the firmware.
The BACnet firmware packages 1.10.62 which has been available here has been removed and replaced with the version 1.10.50.
To know wheter your PCD3 hardware is compatible with firmware 1.14.xx please refer to FAQ 101470
The packages from this page are to be used together and with PG5 2.0 or with PG5 V1.4.300 (patch 15) Link to the PG5 Page
When working with PG5 1.4.300 and patch 15, after the installation of the patch the file "BACnet.exe" from the installation directory is to be executed in order to install the BACnet compiler 1.4.1.9.

The differences between the BACnet firmware version 1.10.24 and 1.10.62 are listed in FAQ 101454
The BACnet firmware 1.10.50 (with 1.10.51 for the PCD) increases the communication stability for upload/merge operstions, see FAQ 101417.
The BACnet firmware extension does handle the management of winter- and summer time changes.
Due to this feature the HEAVAC FBoxes are to be configured not to handle this task.

Analyzer

For analyzing BACnet/IP communication or Ethernet communication in general, we recommend using the free software Wireshark (www.wireshark.org) or the well-know analyzer Bas-O-matic.
